Your Role

As an in vivo associate at Baxiva, you will play a crucial role within our in vivo team. You will work hands-on in the animal facility conducting mouse experiments and testing various aspects of our vaccine. Your responsibilities will also include assay development and the evaluation of the immunological performance of vaccine components. This position will be based in the Mucosal Immunology research group on Hönggerberg, in close collaboration with the vaccine development team in Schlieren.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and executing mouse experiments
  • Sample processing and assay development (ELISA, SBA, OPK, FACS)
  • Ensuring proper documentation of experiments in accordance with Swiss legal standards and OLAW compliance
  • Collaborating with the vaccine development and carrier protein teams for experimental design and timing
  • Conducting data analysis and reporting within our interdisciplinary startup team, working closely with our preclinical development head

Your Profile

We are seeking someone who is curious, reliable, and delivers high-quality results while showing a strong eagerness to grow with us. You should thrive on tackling complex problems in a team setting to deliver real-world impact.

You bring:

  • A completed apprenticeship as a laboratory technician, or an MSc in Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, or a related field
  • Previous mouse work experience is essential, preferably with a background in injection techniques and disease models
  • A strong foundation in standard microbiology techniques and wet lab work, preferably in a BSL-2 laboratory
  • Experience in immunological assay development and execution, with strong emphasis on ELISA and FACS
  • Excellent organizational skills and documentation practices
  • Outstanding communication skills and a collaborative spirit
  • Fluent proficiency in English
