As a Translational Medicine Expert (TME), you will provide medical and scientific expertise and leadership to:

  • Drive success of early global programs by developing and implementing strategies to achieve the Transition Decision Point (TDP).
  • Foster success of late global programs by creating strategies that lead to clinical pharmacology and profiling packages meeting regulatory requirements and supporting competitive drug labeling.
  • Support Translational Research in developing new indications, endpoints, and biomarkers using in vitro, in vivo, or in silico methods.
  • Provide scientific expert assessments and support for in-licensing opportunities, including due diligence.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Early Clinical Projects (Phase I / II, -Discovery-)

Develop strategies for the Translational Medicine component of drug development projects from Research to TDP in collaboration with the dermatology TA, including post-indication expansion (PIE) projects.

Late-Stage Clinical Projects (post-TDP, -Profiling-)

Acting as a key leader in developing Phase 2-3 and post-approval profiling strategies for drug programs, you will represent TMDP on Global Project Teams (GPT) alongside other TM line functions. You'll provide support for dose selection, study design, and other clinical pharmacology matters throughout the development cycle, overseeing studies that support pivotal trials.

Translational Research (TR; indication seeking, endpoint, and biomarker development)

Collaborate with the dermatology TA Head and BR Research scientists to develop strategies for identifying initial or expansion indications and secure evidence to fund these ideas.

Business Development and Licensing (BD&L; in-licensing and out-licensing compounds)

Participate as the TM representative on BD&L teams.

General Responsibilities

  • Clinical monitoring and integrated safety data review during and after study phases.
  • Provide medical and scientific leadership to line functions on the study team.
  • Represent clinical Translational Medicine aspects to Health Authorities and stakeholders like payers and patient advocacy groups.
  • Oversee publication strategy for TM studies; lead writing of scientific publications; present study results externally as appropriate.

Leadership

  • Lead study-specific teams and clinical trial teams in partnership with other line functions.
  • Lead BR-sub-teams on Global Project Teams for late-phase programs.
  • Collaborate closely with TM and non-TM line functions to ensure operational excellence while maintaining high scientific standards and innovation.

Essential Requirements

  • Doctoral degree, MD.
  • Board certified Dermatologist.
  • Preferably a Ph.D. in dermatology/immunology.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech company, CRO, or academic medical center, or related experience.
  • Proven ability to seek innovative clinical discovery opportunities and approaches to achieve TDP.
  • Recognized expert in the field, respected by colleagues across R&D, Development, and externally.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.

Expected Annual Base Salary Range for the role:

  • 122,500.00 - 227,500.00 CHF Annual

Salary is determined based on gender-neutral criteria, including relevant skills, competencies, and experience, in accordance with our pay setting policy.
