Position: Supplier Quality Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a vital role in driving quality excellence and strategic improvement initiatives across our global supplier network for turbocharger parts. This position goes beyond managing current supplier performance; you will actively shape and implement quality strategies that strengthen supply chain resilience and create long-term value. If you are proactive, thrive in international environments, and are motivated by making a measurable impact, we look forward to connecting with you.

Your Responsibilities

  • Qualify & Ramp-up New Parts:
    • Take ownership of the industrialization and ramp-up of new turbocharger components at investment casting or forging suppliers.
    • Proactively identify and clarify technical risks early in the development process, working closely with suppliers to improve part manufacturability and process robustness.
    • Lead the First Article Inspection (FAI) and PPAP processes, acting as the primary interface between suppliers and internal technical teams.
    • Plan and manage the transition from sample to series production, ensuring a smooth ramp-up by collaborating with suppliers on production control plans, risk mitigation strategies, and quality assurance measures.
  • Quality & Supplier Development:
    • Develop and execute the quality strategy for investment casting and forging suppliers.
    • Proactively identify and eliminate potential quality risks, addressing customer complaints through thorough root cause analysis and the implementation of robust, long-term corrective actions.
    • Lead supplier development initiatives focused on driving sustainable improvements.
    • Continuously challenge and improve internal quality processes, tools, and specifications to increase efficiency and prevent issues before they occur.
    • Serve as the quality representative in new product development projects, ensuring early integration of quality standards and effective use of lessons learned from past programs.
  • Audits & Supplier Qualifications:
    • Support lead auditors in regular quality audits.
    • Lead supplier onboarding and qualification activities, ensuring a first-time-right approach through early involvement and clear communication of quality expectations.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with investment casting or forging processes is essential.
  • Good understanding of Material Sciences basics is required.
  • Proven experience in conducting supplier audits and process validations.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Confident in interpreting and working with technical drawings and specifications.
  • Formal training in quality management preferred; Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other industry-specific quality standards.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and accountable — you identify opportunities, take ownership, and deliver measurable improvements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and organizational levels.
  • Fluent in English; basic German skills are an advantage (willingness to learn German is a must).
  • Practical mindset with a strong drive for hands-on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel internationally, up to 20%.
