Job Opportunity: Category Specialist / Technical Supplier Engineer for Iron Casting

This role will report to the Global Category Manager for Iron Casting, based in Baden, Switzerland.
Your Responsibilities:
- Main interface to suppliers on technical and quality aspects, collaborating with procurement and quality management on supplier quality topics.
- Supplier Qualification: Assess sand-casting and machining capabilities, audit supplier quality management systems and processes.
- Product and Process Qualification/Optimization:
Lead a cross-functional team to execute Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) for sand-casted components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with applicable drawings, process descriptions, and standards. This includes providing technical support to suppliers to meet Accelleron Switzerland's technical and quality requirements.
- Approve supplier casting processes via submitted Manufacturing Quality Control Plans and FMEAs.
- Supplier Development: Conduct regular evaluations of supplier quality performance, initiate quality improvement programs, and carry out root cause analyses. Ensure compliance with the protocols, policies, guidelines, and proficiencies of the current integral management system.
- Lead and participate in internal quality meetings and perform qualitative analyses of delivered sand casting parts, developing measures for the sustainable elimination of deviations from data packages.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in sand casting, foundry engineering, or materials engineering.
- Fluency in German and English is essential.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Casting Expert or Supplier Quality Engineer, with expertise in sand casting and machining.
- Experience in qualifying and developing suppliers for sand casted parts for turbochargers using the Product and Process Qualification process (equivalent to PPAP).
- Strong command of quality tools such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP, and PPAP; Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certification is preferred.
- Auditor certification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or IATF 16949 is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and exceptional organizational skills, capable of working under pressure.
- Experience in leading projects and managing virtual cross-functional teams in an international environment.
- A self-starter with excellent leadership, strategic, and analytical skills complemented by intercultural expertise.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30-40% of the time.
