Join Our Team as a Category Specialist / Technical Supplier Engineer for Iron Casting

This position will report to the Global Category Manager Iron Casting, located in Baden, Switzerland.
Your Responsibilities:
- Main interface with suppliers regarding technical and quality aspects, collaborating with procurement and quality management on supplier quality topics.
- Supplier Qualification: Assess suppliers' sand-casting and machining capabilities, and audit their quality management systems and processes.
- Product and Process Qualification/Optimization: Lead cross-functional teams to execute Product and Process Qualification/optimization (PPQ) for sand casted components and assemblies. This includes providing technical support to suppliers to meet Accelleron Switzerland's technical and quality standards.
- Approve supplier casting processes through submitted Manufacturing Quality Control Plans and FMEAs.
- Supplier Development: Conduct regular analyses of supplier quality performance to support evaluation. Initiate and implement quality improvement programs, perform root cause analyses, and define appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Lead and participate in internal quality meetings with individual internal customers, performing qualitative analysis of delivered sand casting parts and defining measures for sustainable deviation elimination.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in sand casting, foundry engineering, or material engineering.
- Fluent in German and English is essential.
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Casting Expert / Manufacturing Engineer and/or Supplier Quality Engineer, with expertise in sand casting and machining.
- Experience in qualifying/developing suppliers for sand casted parts for Turbochargers using the Product and Process Qualification process, equivalent to PPAP.
- Solid experience in quality-related work within industrial parts or similar industries. Strong knowledge of quality tools such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP, and PPAP, along with Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certification.
- Auditor certification in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or IATF 16949 is a plus.
- Proficiency in problem-solving methods and strong organizational skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Experience in leading projects and managing virtual cross-functional teams in an international environment.

- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30-40% of the time.
