About Us

We are a deep-tech quantum sensing company specializing in the commercialization of scanning NV (nitrogen-vacancy) microscopy instrumentation and quantum sensing software. We're seeking an exceptional candidate who possesses a unique blend of deep technical expertise in magnetization reconstruction and inverse problem algorithms, alongside the commercial acumen to enhance our presence in the Asia-Pacific market.

Role Overview

This high-impact, cross-functional role sits at the intersection of scientific algorithm development and commercialization. The successful candidate will contribute directly to our product, Magma—a proprietary data analysis platform for quantum scanning microscopy while identifying and fostering commercial opportunities with research institutes and industry partners throughout Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Development: Participate in the continuous development and enhancement of Magma, our proprietary data analysis software for quantum scanning microscopy, focusing on algorithm design, user interface, and documentation.
  • Inverse Problem Algorithms: Develop and implement inverse problem theories and numerical methods to address magnetization reconstruction challenges within SNVM data pipelines.
  • Business Development: Investigate and cultivate business opportunities in the Asia-Pacific market, collaborating directly with academic laboratories, semiconductor companies, and research institutions.
  • Technical Communication: Act as a technical liaison, effectively conveying complex quantum sensing capabilities to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders in English and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Instrument Operation: Operate and optimize scanning NV microscope systems while troubleshooting and improving measurement workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in Physics is mandatory, with a solid foundation in quantum sensing, quantum optics, or condensed matter physics. Direct, hands-on experience with commercial scanning NV technology is required—candidates with solely academic prototype experience will not be considered.
  • Commercial SNVM Experience: Proven experience in operating and deploying commercial scanning NV microscopy systems (e.g., QZabre, Qnami, or equivalent platforms) in a production or customer-facing setting. Experience limited to academic NV setups is insufficient.
  • Magnetization Reconstruction & Inverse Problem Theory: Verifiable proficiency in inverse problem theory and its application to magnetization reconstruction from scanning NV data, including hands-on experience with regularization methods and uncertainty quantification.
  • Python & Software Skills: Strong proficiency in Python programming, with experience in GUI development using frameworks like PyQt or PySide.
  • Magnetism Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of magnetism, including ferromagnetism, antiferromagnetism, and thin-film magnetic materials relevant to SNVM applications.
  • Bilingual Fluency & Travel: Native-level proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is essential, as is a willingness to travel regularly within the Asia-Pacific region.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in constructing or enhancing commercial software tools.
  • Publications related to inverse problem algorithms or advancements in SNVM performance.
  • Prior experience in a startup or deep-tech environment.
  • Established connections within the Asia-Pacific academic or industrial research sectors.
  • Familiarity with grant writing or scientific proposal development.

What We Offer

This is a unique opportunity to influence both the technical direction and market expansion of a pioneering quantum sensing company. You will work on the cutting-edge of quantum sensing, engaging with customers to tackle complex measurement challenges and develop new markets across the Asia-Pacific region within a dynamic, globally connected team.

  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible work location with travel support for Asia-Pacific business development
  • Conference travel and publication support
  • Access to state-of-the-art quantum sensing laboratory facilities
  • A collaborative, international team dedicated to innovation and publication
