Job Description

This position demonstrates leadership in HSEQ, ensuring all scaffold and lifting activities meet safety regulations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting risk assessments and enforcing compliance to ensure safety is prioritized.
  • Planning, organizing, and executing all lifting operations with competent personnel.
  • Overseeing crane selection, equipment suitability, and safe slinging/signaling arrangements.
  • Maintaining and inspecting lifting gear to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Planning and supervising scaffold erection with a focus on weight limitations and fall protection.
  • Conducting final inspections before use, verifying structural integrity, and overseeing modifications or repairs.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for scaffold and lifting coordination, chairing meetings with contractors to minimize disruptions.
  • Conducting regular audits on scaffolding and lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with markings and periodic examinations.
  • Preventing unauthorized use of lifting equipment and ensuring all personnel are trained and competent.
  • Maintaining detailed records of inspections, risk assessments, and safety measures, and keeping site management informed.
  • Implementing measures to prevent unauthorized movement of cranes and scaffolding while securing areas at risk and controlling access.

Qualifications

  • CISRS Advanced scaffolding inspection certification
  • Completion of a 1-day temporary works accredited training course
  • Experience in a similar role on large construction projects
  • Knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal and management system requirements
  • Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or equivalent
  • Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC), Safepass (ROI), CSCS or CCNSG card or equivalent
  • Good command of English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
