Job Overview

This role serves as the main point of contact for the bottom unit within the footwear development process. As a Footwear Tooling Engineer, you will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and the outsourcing hub in Asia to ensure a seamless and efficient transition from concept creation to prototyping and production. You will also work in tandem with our Innovation and Sports Engineering teams to help validate and launch high-performance products and technologies into the market.

Your Mission

  • Provide technical design constraints and solutions, material choices, and product construction input by leveraging your extensive knowledge of materials, mold construction, and manufacturing methods.
  • Act as the bottom unit leader for products across multiple verticals and projects, including both Inline and Innovation initiatives.
  • Analyze and enhance product designs for manufacturability and durability, offering solutions while achieving quality and performance targets. Your skills in 2D and 3D modeling will support these objectives.
  • Utilize your understanding of cost implications associated with various molding methods and tooling designs to provide actionable recommendations.
  • Assist the product management and design teams with tooling-related inquiries and issues, while collaborating with our Asian counterparts and supporting mold shop teams.

Your Story

  • You hold a higher education degree in Engineering or Design fields.
  • You have over 5 years of experience in an engineering role, closely working with development and production, preferably in the footwear industry.
  • You possess experience working with 2D and 3D CAD files (preferably Rhinoceros), with additional expertise in Simulation (FEA) as a bonus.
  • You exhibit excellent time management skills and the ability to navigate multiple deadlines.
  • You have strong technical knowledge in materials, manufacturing, and plastic molding; footwear is a familiar domain for you.
  • You demonstrate expertise in project management, costing, quality, and the ability to provide solutions within complex constraints.
  • You are fluent in English.
