Your Mission
Job Description
- Collector Concepts Development: Join the Concepts & Innovation team to invent, design, and develop new CO₂ collector system architectures that effectively integrate sorbent and process requirements into practical, manufacturable equipment.
- Prototyping: Prototype and test concepts and sub-systems with a hands-on approach, guiding projects from early proof of concept to final acceptance testing. Design and execute experiments to validate concepts, troubleshoot issues, and optimize designs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with our in-house sorbent and process experts, as well as system engineers, to align material and process properties with mechanical implementations, enabling innovation from lab to industrial scale.
- Stakeholder & Project Management: Document designs, learnings, and failures to accelerate the team’s innovation cycle while ensuring efficient collaboration and alignment within the team and across functions.
- Intellectual Property: Monitor industry advancements and actively contribute to the generation of new intellectual property.
Your Story
Requirements
- Education & Engineering Expertise: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of 7 years of experience in equipment development, particularly with systems involving steam, vacuum, and thermal management, is essential.
- Approach to Innovation: Demonstrated hands-on experience in building and validating lab-scale or pilot-scale hardware. A proven record of innovation and rapid prototyping with the capability to creatively address engineering challenges.
- Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of detail design, design-for-manufacture, industrialization, and scaling hardware concepts. Proficiency in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) is required, alongside familiarity with sorbents, adsorption/desorption processes, or thermal separation technologies being a plus.
- Communication & Teamwork: Comfort in multidisciplinary teams bridging material science, process engineering, mechanical design, and industrialization with strong communication abilities and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Formalities
This position is based in Zurich, where we require on-site work at least three days a week.
