THE POSITION
The Analytical Scientist position is centered on the timely development and optimization of analytical methods, with a strong focus on capillary electrophoresis (CE), to support the characterization of biologics and deliver high-quality results across various customer projects.
In this role, you will collaborate with many colleagues within the Analytical Services and across the multicultural teams at Celonic, contributing to the development of robust analytical strategies. You will play a key role in executing routine activities while also addressing complex technical challenges. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute analytical methods within the scientists’ core expertise (capillary electrophoresis), including data evaluation, interpretation, and reporting (e.g., LIMS).
- Maintain an agile and innovative mindset while applying critical thinking to results, considering the broader context of the samples within the development process.
- Support or lead the development of methods based on your capillary electrophoresis core expertise.
- Provide organizational support, including analysis planning, raw-data review, and scheduling of overall department activities.
- Ensure analytics are executed at the highest quality, meeting customer satisfaction within the agreed timeline.
- Assist in the transfer and handover of analytical methods to GMP Quality Control, including validations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in an engineering or life sciences related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Biotech, Pharma, CRO, or CDMO, preferably in analytical services for a development organization or CDMO.
- Proven technical experience in capillary electrophoresis (ideally Maurice System).
- Experience or knowledge of method development principles is desirable.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in additional analytical methods is a plus.
- Exhibited ability to work autonomously and with self-discipline to meet timelines.
- Possess a flexible, solution-focused mindset with strong operational, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Confident in the use of the English language (German is an advantage).
