Fixed-term for 18 months

The Center for AI in Radiation Oncology (CAIRO) is seeking a motivated data engineer to support the development of a research data dashboard aimed at improving clinical decision-making in head and neck cancer. This project is embedded within CAIRO's structured clinical data initiatives and focuses on transforming routinely collected in-house data into an intuitive, interactive tool for physicians. The goal is to enable data-driven exploration of treatment strategies and patient outcomes in comparable cohorts. You will contribute to the design, development, and validation of this dashboard in close collaboration with clinicians and data scientists.

What you can expect

  • Develop and refine an interactive dashboard for clinical decision support.
  • Work with real-world clinical and imaging data in a research setting.
  • Design and implement components of data pipelines, backend systems, and/or user interfaces.
  • Contribute to the publishing of the designed tool.
  • Collaborate closely with clinicians and interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Translate complex datasets into meaningful clinical insights.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, computer science, medicine, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in programming, data analysis, or software development.
  • Solid coding experience for data processing and analytics (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
  • Ideally, experience in developing graphical user interfaces (e.g., Apache Superset).
  • Interest in working at the interface of healthcare and technology.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken (international team).
