Job Objectives

The Regulatory and Fiscal Strategy (R&FS) Manager plays a crucial role in developing and executing strategies addressing fiscal and regulatory issues, including Tobacco Taxation, Anti-illicit Trade, Supply Chain costs, and the regulation of Combustible and Non-Combustible Reduced Risk Products (RRP), alongside ESG factors. This position demands a focus on market priorities and business impact.

This role necessitates collaboration with various HQ functions, regions, and markets, while managing complex projects and prioritizing initiatives using SMART KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze political, economic, and social trends to identify emerging issues and potential policy changes that could affect JTI’s business and local and national legislative agendas.
  • Distill research findings into clear, actionable policy insights for internal stakeholders. Prepare high-impact policy briefs, country/regional analysis reports, and presentations that simplify complex information.
  • Work closely with the Policy Strategic Insights Director and other cross-functional leaders to convert policy intelligence into concrete recommendations and strategies.
  • Co-create Corporate Affairs strategies in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring markets understand, buy-in, and contribute feedback to the strategic plans and initiatives—ranging from presentations to podcasts, and best practice sharing to wargaming.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and AI tools to enhance our capability in predicting and navigating policy scenarios, managing various tasks and projects as they arise upon the manager’s request.

Qualifications

  • Storytelling: A robust commercial understanding with the ability to translate business questions into actionable recommendations and implications.
  • Technology: Proficient in MS Office tools with advanced experience using AI tools.

Professional Experience

Demonstrated strong commercial acumen and a track record in developing strategies, insights, and driving excellence in execution across a diverse range of issues and projects. An understanding of the various aspects of combustible and non-combustible product regulation—including components, packaging, and commercialization (marketing and selling)—is preferred.

A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to anticipate regulatory trends and developments, assess and communicate different regulatory outcomes, seek trade-offs, and drive win-win outcomes is essential.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Language and Computer Skills

Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
