The Sustainability in Business Lab (sus.lab) at ETH Zurich is a dynamic “think and do tank” dedicated to fostering real-world impact while driving the transition towards a net-zero and circular economy. We actively integrate sustainability research into practice through collaborative projects involving industry stakeholders, policymakers, and academia.

Job Opportunity: Project Manager

Join our team at the Sustainability in Business Lab and contribute to the development of a net-zero and circular economy. We are seeking an impact-driven Project Manager with a strong background in sustainability, technology, and business.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support project leads in generating impactful results from innovative industry-related research projects (such as FARM4HH).
  • Work independently on assigned tasks, while collaborating closely with the project team.
  • Assist in preparing research proposals and securing third-party funding.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Up to one year of relevant work experience (consulting, strategy, entrepreneurship, policy), including internships.
  • A completed master’s degree in a relevant field (sustainability, engineering, environmental science, business).
  • Fluency in German (native level) and English (C1), as well as proficiency in either Italian or French (C1).
  • Reside in Switzerland and be available to work in Zurich at the start of the contract (remote work is not feasible).
  • Ability to commence the position by August 2025 at the latest.

  • Have experience in leading focus groups or employing other qualitative research methods.
  • Are adept at managing and engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Have enthusiasm and experience in technical writing, especially for reports.

Contract and Benefits

The initial contract for the position of Scientific Assistant I is limited to one year, with the potential for extension.
