About the Position – Project Manager, S2Cities Programme

Our global youth-focused programme, Safe and Sound Cities (S2Cities), aims to create safer urban environments for young individuals by promoting their participation in urban decision-making processes and enabling youth-driven innovation. The programme empowers young people aged 15–24 to ideate and implement interventions to address local safety challenges, in partnership with various sectors including public, private, and civil society (academia, NGOs, etc.).

To support this global initiative, we are seeking a culturally sensitive individual who has a demonstrated passion for youth safety and well-being, sustainable urban development, and programme management, while aligning with GIB’s core values. In this role, you will be responsible for programme management, which includes, but is not limited to, grantee and partner management, strategic planning, advocacy, event coordination, and fundraising.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with global communications consultants and local implementation partners, overseeing workplans and budgets, reviewing deliverables, and providing strategic guidance.
  • Plan global events organized and hosted by GIB, including developing agendas and coordinating logistics.
  • Develop and implement programme scaling strategies, identifying new funding sources and preparing proposals.
  • Contribute to overall organizational and programme management by supporting the Global Programme Manager and Director.

Qualifications

You should meet the following criteria:

  • 2-3 years of experience in impact-focused programmes, sustainable development, youth engagement, or similar fields.
  • Experience with public and/or private sector engagement, especially with large corporations present in the S2Cities implementation regions; experience within an NGO or youth empowerment organization is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in reports, requests for proposals, and budgeting tools.
  • Programme management experience, particularly in an intermediary role is required.
  • Experience working or living in low- and middle-income countries (e.g., Ghana, Colombia, Ecuador, Vietnam, or the Philippines is an advantage).
  • Experience organizing delegations at large-scale international multilateral events.
  • Experience in communications management, travel logistics, and event planning.
