Position: Project Manager Factory Investments

Are you an experienced and motivated project leader with a passion for manufacturing innovation? Do you excel in cross-functional environments, harmonizing technical expertise with stakeholder alignment and operational excellence? If so, this is your opportunity to significantly impact our global production footprint.

In your role as Project Manager for Factory Investments, you will spearhead multi-million, high-impact CAPEX projects focusing on factory optimization and the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies. You will be instrumental in developing our production sites in Switzerland and internationally, driving progress in automation, digitalization, and operational excellence within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing context. Your work will contribute to enhancing our operational capabilities and supporting our journey toward a sustainable future.

With your extensive project management experience, entrepreneurial mindset, strong focus on results, and technical proficiency, you will guide cross-functional project teams through the entire lifecycle—from concept to handover—ensuring that projects are completed with high quality, on time, and within budget. Your dedicated efforts will be critical in maintaining stable operations and boosting our long-term competitiveness.

You will be part of the Value Chain organization in Baden, reporting to the Teamlead Value Chain Investments, and collaborating closely with factory leadership and technical experts across our global value chain.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead complex factory optimization and investment projects (CAPEX 2-10M CHF), ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality execution.
  • Develop and apply deep expertise in production processes to drive innovation, automation, and digitalization while balancing productivity with operational stability.
  • Manage global, cross-functional teams throughout all project stages, including initiation, analysis, concept development, implementation, and final handover.
  • Build and lead high-performance project teams, establish effective governance structures, and coordinate work packages efficiently.
  • Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, maintaining a strong customer focus, ongoing dialogue, and service excellence.
  • Forge relationships with external partners such as suppliers, universities, and technology providers to ensure project success.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and recommend emerging technologies and innovative processes to optimize factory operations.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices throughout the company, continuously improving project management techniques and tools.

Your Background

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Automation, Production Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Over 3 years of proven project management experience leading complex CAPEX projects, with a solid understanding of lean manufacturing and management principles.
  • Hands-on experience in the machinery or metal manufacturing industry, ideally with the implementation of advanced technologies (e.g., metal cutting technologies such as milling and grinding).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic, results-driven approach.
  • Strong financial acumen to analyze data and construct sound business cases for investments.
  • Analytical thinker with exceptional conceptual skills and a proactive, solution-oriented, and independent working style.
  • Team player with high motivation, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Fluent in both English and German (written and spoken).

Your Benefits

  • Attractive compensation and benefits.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
