As a Project Lead Buyer, you will play a vital role within our dynamic Supply Chain team. Together, we ensure that our innovative products – ranging from precisely manufactured components to complete rocket half-shells – are delivered on time, in top quality, and under optimal conditions.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the strategic development of our procurement operations, driving continuous improvement, and building strong, reliable supplier partnerships. You will analyze global sourcing markets, anticipate material needs, and ensure supply security – all while keeping a keen focus on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Your key interfaces: Project Management, Engineering, Commodity Management, and your local team. Your impact: Immediate and meaningful – on projects, products, and our company’s success.

Your Mission:
Request quotes for prototype, flight, and serial parts/materials, as well as production-required jigs and tools.
Sourcing potential suppliers based on technical, economic, and quality requirements.
Support the calculation for customer offers by providing procurement cost overviews for parts and materials.
Clarify technical feasibility with suppliers and propose (alternative) solutions during the concept phase.
Negotiate prices and conditions while establishing framework agreements and contracts.
Continuously optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and drive savings initiatives.
Represent purchasing interests in the product development process (BOM, specification/drawing availability, meeting cost targets, and manufacturing deadlines).
Ensure all externally sourced BOM parts, materials, and jigs are available in line with project milestones.
Highlight potential deviations from plan (cost, time, quality), and define and ensure counteractions.
Maintain ERP procurement article data.
Ensure sourcing aligns with company and general legal sourcing regulations.
Issue and follow up on orders (if applicable, in collaboration with Purchasers and Buyers).
Coordinate and implement the needs and requirements of materials management and production planning.
Participate in supplier qualification and development.
Issue and follow up on supplier quality claims.
Your Story:
Completed technical and/or commercial education, with 3+ years of in-depth technical and operational sourcing experience.
Experience in global sourcing and a solid technical understanding.
High awareness of costs and quality.
Strong negotiation skills and a results-driven mindset.
High reliability and adherence to deadlines.
Experience working in a project environment and with multifunctional teams.
Experience with SAP ERP system and related procurement administrative tasks.
Experience in aerospace or aeronautics is advantageous.
Fluent in English and German is a must.
Lean and Six Sigma education and experience would be beneficial.
Sensitive and empathetic communication skills.
Willingness to travel.
