Project Engineer - Mechanical / Electrical Engineering for Production System Analysis

The research group Simulation and Metrology at inspire offers a position in collaboration with ETH Zurich in the field of production system analysis.

Project Background

In close collaboration with our industrial partners, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks in the realm of high-precision motion systems, including metrology, design, control, and processes. Your contributions will help meet the increasing demands for productivity and precision in novel production systems, including robotics.

Job Description

You will initially take part in an industrial project with a leading Swiss manufacturer of production systems. Your responsibilities may also include utilizing our cutting-edge Simulation environment Software MORe (www.more-simulations.ch).

Your Tasks

  • Plan and perform experiments (DoE) in a laboratory environment.
  • Analyze and test multi-axis production systems.
  • Collaborate with industrial partners.
  • Conduct application-related industrial projects.

Profile

Required Experience

  • CH/EU/EFTA citizenship or a valid work permit for Switzerland.
  • Recent master's degree (ETHZ or EPFZ) in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Experience in the control technology of high-precision mechatronic systems.
  • Enjoy hands-on problem-solving in a challenging industrial environment.
  • Profound knowledge and experience in applying state-of-the-art AI applications in engineering.
  • A desire to deepen abilities in the field of production engineering.
  • Experience programming in Python, including Git.
  • Very good knowledge of German and English (TOEFL 100 pts).

  • Excellent teamwork capabilities, positive work attitude, and creativity.
