The Optical Nanomaterial Group in the Physics Department at ETH Zurich is seeking a highly motivated and creative PhD student in quantum metamaterials. Optical metamaterials are rapidly advancing technologies that have transitioned from academic exploration to application in modern smartphones. This progress has been fueled by the precision and quality of sub-wavelength nanostructures, leveraging expertise from electronics and MEMS processing. However, nonlinear and quantum metamaterials require the exploration of new materials platforms and the development of innovative nanofabrication techniques.
