The Chair of Strategic Management and Innovation at ETH Zurich's Department of Management, Technology, and Economics, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Georg von Krogh, invites applications for a PhD position. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in research aimed at addressing contemporary challenges in management and organizational theory.

Job Description

Project and Supervision: The selected PhD candidate will embark on a research project culminating in a dissertation featuring at least three high-quality papers intended for top-tier journals. Co-supervision will be provided by Prof. Georg von Krogh and a team of senior researchers at SMI. Expected starting time: June 2025.

Profile

• A Master's degree (MSc, MA, or MPhil) in Business Administration or a related field (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Engineering). Note: MBAs are not eligible.
• Strong interest in the topics pursued by the Chair team, such as knowledge creation, knowledge management, innovation processes, digital technology, and artificial intelligence in strategic management.
• Demonstrated interest and capability to conduct rigorous research, evidenced by previous work, such as an outstanding Master's thesis.
• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• A strong desire to contribute to academic discourse and further develop research skills, alongside curiosity, self-direction, and a propensity for teamwork.
