Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate healthcare professional to provide holistic, evidence-based care to a private individual, addressing all her needs in a positive, person-centered manner. The individual currently has a diagnosis of dementia, along with age-related frailties and potential health co-morbidities that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Assess, plan, develop, and implement individualized care programs, providing advice and maintaining associated records, either manually or digitally.
- Perform nursing procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines.
- Offer clinical supervision to other staff members.
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise staff to promote best practices in caring for a client with dementia.
- Provide cover in the absence of the team leader to ensure the effective delivery of care.
- Raise any issues with the line manager promptly.
Qualifications / Essential Requirements
- Swiss or EU passport (or holder of a Swiss work permit).
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration or European/Swiss equivalent.
- Nursing degree or equivalent qualification.
- Completion or progress towards Best Practice in Dementia Training.
- Willingness to undergo specific dementia training, such as Best Practice in Dementia Care, conducted in English.
- Additional qualifications related to dementia, including stress and distress training, meaningful activity, Sage and Thyme.
- Knowledge of the Newcastle Model and/or PINCHME model of behavior assessment.
- Commitment to further developing dementia knowledge as part of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Specialist dementia qualifications or additional studies in related areas.
- Understanding of behavior as communication and a solid knowledge of non-pharmacological interventions and strategies.
- Experience in End of Life Care, with relevant clinical skills to address any developing co-morbidities.
Qualifications / Additional Requirements (beneficial for LHS)
- Experience as a Moving and Handling Trainer.
- Skills in Beauty or Massage Therapy.
- Experience in Meaningful Activities.
Language Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, ideally as a first language.
- Excellent written communication skills in English.
- Understanding of the local dialect for the client’s background in Central Scotland is advantageous.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years' experience working with individuals with dementia is required.

Specific Job Requirements
- Commitment to working a shift pattern based in Buckinghamshire, UK, and Switzerland for extended durations (preferably 10-14 days).
- Must be prepared to travel with the client within the UK.
- Availability for unsociable hours, including sleepover arrangements alternating nights with another staff member.
- Possibility of accompanying the client to and from different venues as part of the role.
- Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to the social standing of the client.
- Maintain confidentiality in line with NMC requirements and organizational standards; a confidentiality agreement will be provided separately.
- Awareness of the client and family's local culture is critical, as understanding their background can mitigate stress and enhance care.
- Housekeeping duties are integral to this position.
