What You'll Do
In this role, you will take the lead in advancing analytical development activities for our PhytoComplexes (EDGEOS) within the Garden of the Future. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, optimizing, and validating analytical methods—primarily HPLC-UV and complementary techniques such as HPLC MS—to ensure accurate and consistent phytochemical and feed analysis.
- Interpreting analytical data, troubleshooting deviations, and delivering high-quality technical reports.
- Overseeing and executing stability studies.
- Developing and writing SOPs related to analytical methods, equipment operation, and laboratory workflows.
- Ensuring that analytical instruments are properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with internal and external quality standards.
- Supporting, training, and guiding junior lab personnel to foster continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance laboratory efficiency and data accuracy through methodological innovation or new technologies.
- Contributing to the selection, qualification, and commissioning of new laboratory equipment.
Who We're Looking For
We seek a hands-on, analytical, and detail-oriented scientist who thrives in a dynamic research environment. You should bring curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative mindset to advance Nutreco’s phytotechnology program. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master’s or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
- Professional laboratory experience—ideally within the phytochemistry, food, or feed sectors.
- Strong proficiency in analytical chemistry, specifically with HPLC and sample preparation techniques (e.g., SPE, flash chromatography).
- A solid understanding of plant phytochemistry and its application in analytical method development.
- A proven ability to troubleshoot analytical challenges and improve testing workflows.
- Precision in documentation, data integrity, and reporting; GMP experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams.
- Fluency in English; German language skills are an advantage.
