Your Impact

As a Medical Research Engineer, you will play a crucial role in an interdisciplinary research and development team, addressing the challenges of tomorrow's mechanical ventilation systems.

After gaining a solid understanding of ventilation principles and our development tools, you will focus on creating and testing innovative, data-driven signal processing algorithms to identify critical patient-ventilator interactions. Collaborating with our engineers and clinical experts, you will support application prototyping through to clinical validation while maintaining a product-oriented focus.

Your Qualifications

To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who possess:

• A Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or scientific field (such as software engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or related disciplines), or equivalent experience outside academia
• Strong programming skills in Python and Matlab, with demonstrated experience in various technologies and frameworks as a significant advantage
• Hands-on experience with software development and prototyping, including version control systems
• Experience with data and signal processing
• An analytical, independent, and meticulous work style
• A flexible, creative, and pragmatic mindset with an openness to interdisciplinary collaboration
• Fluency in English

Preferred Qualifications

It is also advantageous to have:

• Experience with web development frameworks (such as Django or Flask)
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation, as well as common container technologies (e.g., Docker)
• Knowledge of cloud-based technologies, particularly for app scaling and refactoring (e.g., Azure, Kubernetes)
• Experience with database systems and associated query languages (e.g., SQL)
• Experience in data science and machine learning
