We are seeking a passionate Mathematics Teacher to join our vibrant community at our all-through 4-18 international boarding school nestled in the stunning Swiss Alps. This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of students.

Main Duties

  • Teach across various age groups and ability levels, tailoring lessons to meet individual needs.
  • Engage in school life by participating in sporting events, extracurricular activities, and other enrichment opportunities.
  • Contribute to our Boarding Department.
  • Focus on your own professional growth and development.
  • Mentor a small group of learners and monitor their achievements and well-being.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding all young people.
  • Handle subject-related administrative tasks and take part in departmental meetings.
  • Adhere to the school's assessment and reporting processes and attend parents' meetings as needed.

Person Specification

  • Possess a good honours degree and/or a further degree in a directly related subject.
  • Exhibit a commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Be passionate about mathematics and inspire enthusiasm in students.
  • Open to implementing innovative teaching practices and continually developing pedagogical skills.
  • Willing to supervise learners completing the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with English as a first language.
  • Align with the educational vision of La Garenne International School, including our holistic approach to education, and actively contribute to co-curricular and pastoral life.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, fostering relationships and collaborating effectively with colleagues and school leadership.
  • Exhibit strong ICT competence and a willingness to embrace new technologies.
  • Maintain a positive outlook, with an optimistic approach to change and a good sense of humor.
