Job Overview
Join our dynamic IT team within the Asset Control & Management division at TotalEnergies Gas & Power trading business. In this pivotal role, you will focus on asset dispatch and management solutions, ensuring connectivity with a variety of energy assets, including CCGTs, batteries, and renewables, operating globally. Your expertise will be invaluable in designing and managing these systems, guaranteeing effective and secure connectivity for energy assets acquired by the business. As a designated expert in IoT and SCADA, you will play a critical role within the IT team and across the business as we support the growing Gas and Power sector, especially as TotalEnergies transitions to Power. You will report directly to the Team Leader for Asset Control & Management, Gas & Power Trading IT.
Key Responsibilities / Objectives
- Act as an expert for IoT/SCADA, providing valuable advice to business and IT teams.
- Design innovative solutions for connectivity, management, optimization, and dispatching of energy assets, whether wholly owned by TotalEnergies or third parties.
- Coordinate activities for connecting energy assets across diverse markets and geographies, offering ongoing technical support.
- Ensure strict compliance with cybersecurity and technology standards, contributing insights for security audits.
- Provide input into the overall design of the trading landscape, integrating industrial IT with Trading IT.
- Facilitate cross-team coordination for the integration of asset and trading systems.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of connected assets, detailing designs and deployed protocols.
- Stay abreast of market and technology developments pertinent to your role.
- Collaborate closely with third-party solution providers and IT contractors.
- Support scheduling and dispatch teams as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in power production, utility, or trading environments, with a strong understanding of energy markets.
- Comprehensive knowledge of energy production and trading businesses, including systems and processes for scheduling, dispatching, optimization, and management of assets such as CCGTs, batteries, and renewables.
- Expertise in IoT and SCADA systems, including protocols for data exchange with energy assets and systems operators (e.g., Modbus, OPC, IEC 104, DNP3, ICCP), as well as processes for onboarding and connecting energy assets.
- Desirable training and experience in IT service management (e.g., ITIL), project management (e.g., PMI, Prince 2), Agile methodologies, Cloud technologies, and databases.
- Educated to at least degree level or equivalent in business, computer science, or a similar technology/engineering discipline.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in French is advantageous.
