About the Role
We are currently seeking a highly motivated auditor or audit manager (depending on the level of experience) to join our small yet impactful internal audit team. In this role, you will support or lead internal audit assignments within the Lonza Group, gaining valuable insight into the business while developing your expertise for a career in line management.
Main Responsibilities
- As an auditor, prepare, execute, and conduct assigned internal audit activities; as a manager, plan, lead, and deliver internal audit assignments, which may include occasional consulting engagements and special projects across various operational areas (sourcing and procurement, inventory management, marketing & sales, production, human resources, finance & accounting).
- As an auditor, support and collaborate with the audit team; as a team lead, train, supervise, and guide team members and/or outsourced experts assigned to individual engagements.
- Present audit results to stakeholders; prepare clear and concise audit reports that effectively communicate key findings, root causes, and associated risks.
- Collaborate with internal experts to enhance audit preparations and execution with data analytics and SAP configuration reviews; assist with ongoing improvements of audit programs and processes.
- Engage in discussions with the finance organization and global process owners, focusing on best practices as well as the standardization and harmonization of processes and controls.
- Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations and support reporting on open and overdue issues to top management.
- Lead initiatives and/or contribute to other internal activities and projects aimed at continuously optimizing the Internal Audit function.
Minimum Required Qualifications / Skills
- Master's degree, preferably in finance or accounting; a degree in chemistry or a similar field is also welcome.
- 3+ years of mandatory external audit experience, preferably in manufacturing industries; CPA (or equivalent professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CA) highly desirable.
- Extensive experience in executing assignments in compliance with international auditing standards; excellent understanding of standard business processes like S2P, OTC, and R2R with solid know-how of SAP.
- At least basic knowledge of IT fundamentals; competence to audit operational and finance activities utilizing specialized applications.
- Passion for leveraging AI and digital tools; familiarity with ETL concepts and knowledge of SQL, Python programming, and/or Power BI dashboards is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, risk-focused, target and deadline-oriented, results-driven, and capable of developing solutions; motivated self-starter.
- Team player with excellent communication skills and the potential for career development within the Lonza Group after 3-4 years in internal auditing.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10-20% of the time.
Location
Basel Headquarters (relocation necessary; home office is limited to a maximum of 2 days per week).
