Duties

You will collaborate in various teams and activities, engaging in both research and implementation efforts.

  • Conduct desk research and procure information
  • Manage bibliography
  • Program surveys and perform preliminary data analysis
  • Assist in concept development
  • Contribute to the creation of funding proposals
  • Support the development of tools and methodologies for our educational programmes
  • Communicate and collaborate internally with national and international project partners
  • Translate environmental policies into a gamified environment

You will also provide management support for the Directorate by:

  • Coordinating and documenting various thematic and structural units or work in progress
  • Handling administrative and management tasks (e.g., controlling, planning)
  • Assisting in event planning (e.g., preparation and support of networking events, policy dialogues, etc.)
  • Supporting communication tasks, including online communication and social media
  • Organizing meetings and taking qualified minutes

Requirements

  • BSc or currently pursuing an MSc in social sciences (economics, sociology, geography, political science, development studies, sustainable development) or from the fields of humanities (educational science, psychology, linguistics, social anthropology) or in law
  • Knowledge and/or strong interest in sustainability transformations (e.g., environmental policy, food systems, value chains, international agriculture, inequality, development economics, commons)
  • Interest in developing pedagogical frameworks and addressing sustainability issues
  • Affinity for data and graphics
  • Willingness to communicate and collaborate within an international and interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English, both in writing and verbally; proficiency in a second Swiss national language and/or Spanish is a plus
  • Proficient in standard Office programs and online communication tools, with a basic understanding of statistics programs; experience with ArcGIS is an advantage
