Job Opportunity: Interim Middle School Principal

ZIS is seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Middle School Principal for the 2025-2026 school year. This one-year position provides a unique opportunity to lead our grades 6-8 community and facilitate a smooth transition to the school’s long-term leadership structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic & Instructional Leadership
- Provide strong instructional leadership to support high-quality teaching and learning.
- Guide the division with a focus on student engagement, well-being, and high expectations.
- Utilize data-informed decision-making to monitor student progress and refine instructional strategies.
- Community & Student Well-Being
- Foster a culture of belonging, inclusion, and well-being for both students and staff.
- Serve as the primary advocate for middle school students, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional needs are met.
- Engage parents as partners in student learning and well-being through effective communication and community-building initiatives.
- Faculty & Staff Development
- Lead, support, and inspire a team of dedicated educators through coaching, feedback, and professional development.
- Promote a collaborative, high-trust environment that fosters innovation and continuous growth.
- Supervise and evaluate faculty and staff to uphold high standards of teaching and professional excellence.
- Operational & School Leadership
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the middle school, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with the Director and Senior Leadership Team to align the division’s goals with ZIS's strategic direction.
- Efficiently manage the Middle School budget and resources.
- Ensure smooth transitions for incoming and outgoing students and faculty.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in an international or independent middle school setting.
- Deep understanding of adolescent development and best practices in teaching and learning.
- Strong background in curriculum development, student well-being, and faculty development.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
- Experience managing change, transitions, and complex school dynamics.
