IKEA Supply AG (ISAG) is the wholesale company within the Inter IKEA Group, belonging to IKEA Supply, which oversees the goods in the IKEA Distribution and Regional Customer Distribution Centers worldwide. The main functions located at ISAG include Supply Chain Operations, Supply Chain Development, and Finance.

The Indirect Tax Team, part of Finance, is responsible for managing indirect tax matters and ensuring compliance with indirect tax laws, as well as environmental reporting rules and regulations. You will be joining the Indirect Tax Compliance Team, where our primary goal is to ensure that IKEA Supply AG and its subsidiaries adhere to indirect tax laws and obligations, while also providing support to other supply chain units on compliance matters.

Job Description

The primary objective of this role is to prepare and submit indirect tax reports while applying standardized processes to ensure indirect tax compliance. Achieving compliance and supporting strategic business goals will be accomplished through the application of current processes and solutions related to indirect tax obligations.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Ensuring indirect tax compliance by preparing and submitting indirect tax returns (VAT/GST, Intrastat, and other listings) and reviewing compliance data for multiple jurisdictions/countries.
  • Supporting and participating in multi-country Indirect Tax audits and requests from local tax authorities.
  • Handling other taxes related to food products.
  • Determining VAT rates for assigned countries.
  • Supporting internal stakeholders with indirect tax queries (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Financial Controlling, etc.).
  • Participating in Indirect Tax projects.
  • Ensuring the implementation, updating, and improvement of internal working processes.
  • Preparing reconciliations between indirect tax filings, ERP systems, and other systems.
  • Participating in and supporting the payment and refund process.
  • Initiating process improvements.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Relevant University degree (MSc/BSc) in economics, business administration, or law.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in indirect tax compliance with exposure to multiple jurisdictions/countries.
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Proven ability to navigate multiple information systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • A growth mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Team spirit and strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility and a positive attitude towards change.
  • Must be a Swiss citizen, have a valid work permit for Switzerland, or hold EU citizenship.
