ANAVIA specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) systems weighing up to 500 kilograms. Our company offers industry-leading unmanned helicopter systems for a variety of mission profiles, including Surveillance & Reconnaissance, Inspection, Mapping, and Cargo.
Position: Head of Airworthiness & Safety
As the Head of Airworthiness & Safety, your responsibilities will include overseeing operational authorizations, serving as the main point of contact for aviation authorities, and addressing all regulation and flight safety-related inquiries. You will also be tasked with establishing and maintaining all relevant documentation and manuals.
Your Main Tasks
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to secure relevant operational authorizations (e.g., SORA-process in compliance with Drone Regulation EU 2019/947).
- Initiate and coordinate operational authorization and other regulatory topics with the relevant National Aviation Authorities (NAAs).
- Develop and maintain manuals and processes to obtain and sustain operational authorizations.
- Familiarize yourself with and assess the latest regulations and information pertaining to unmanned aerial vehicle operations, providing guidance and training to internal stakeholders.
- Act as Flight Safety Manager and establish as well as maintain a Safety Management System.
- Create and uphold a compliant occurrence reporting scheme (e.g., in accordance with regulation EU 376/2014).
- Consult with management on regulation-relevant topics.
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
- Conduct internal and external audits.
- Deliver internal training related to regulatory and aviation standards.
What You Bring to the Table
- Completed higher education (e.g., ETH, HTL, etc.).
- Comprehensive knowledge of Safety Management Systems in accordance with ICAO requirements (e.g., Doc. 9859).
- Expertise in relevant regulatory requirements and frameworks for unmanned aerial vehicles (e.g., EU 2019/947).
- A solid technical and systems engineering understanding with process-oriented and structured work methods.
- Strong computer skills.
