Role Overview
In this role, you will define and secure competitive and resilient sources of supply for the category of Components in collaboration with all global Accelleron divisions (product and service business), countries, and global functions. You will focus on achieving the highest productivity, considering cost, capital employed, on-time delivery, quality, and resilience in accordance with the SCM Strategy. This position reports to the Head of Direct Material Sourcing.
Your Responsibilities
Strategy:
- Develop and implement the category strategy and targets in alignment with overall SCM and Division strategies to drive profitable growth, supply chain resilience, and sustainability.
Accountability:
- Directly lead local Category Managers and functionally local category leaders in various locations worldwide.
- Ensure cost competitiveness, maintain a high overall global quality standard, and ensure the availability of parts to enhance Accelleron's competitiveness and customer focus.
- Collaborate with and provide guidance to global teams across sourcing hubs to improve resilience, cost efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Drive the development of sourcing hubs to reduce lead times for new parts development and sample releases at the site.
- Foster and sustain robust relationships with key suppliers to ensure seamless collaboration and long-term partnership.
- Evaluate and develop new suppliers to secure reliable supply sources.
- Assign the sourcing of category parts to different regions and drive supplier development.
- Manage global contracts and negotiations for the assigned category.
- Coordinate and drive category-related investments.
- Implement active supplier risk management to safeguard Accelleron's sources of supply.
- Ensure comprehensive category reporting to Divisions, countries, and other stakeholders.
- Secure and optimize transport logistics from suppliers and sourcing hubs.
General:
- Recruit and develop essential personnel to create a skilled, high-performing team.
- Ensure active retention and talent development initiatives.
Your Background
- University degree with significant knowledge of Supply Chain Management, Business Engineering, and/or Business Administration.
- Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain Management and Category Management, with a background in production preferred.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- Relevant experience in production/sourcing within an international business context.
- Strategic orientation and systematic thinking.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with senior leaders and other stakeholders.
- Good understanding of global markets and customer dynamics.
