General Manager – DACH & European Region (Embodied AI / Robotics)
Location: Zurich, Switzerland (primary office), with responsibility for the DACH region (Switzerland, Germany, Austria) and gradual expansion across Europe; travel as required.
Purpose of the Role
As General Manager for the DACH and European Region, you will be responsible for building, developing, and scaling our embodied AI and robotics business in Europe from the ground up. This senior management role integrates market insight, key-account development, commercial negotiation, partner-ecosystem building, local market adaptation, and team building. Your first focus will be to establish a foothold in the DACH region, followed by progressive expansion across the entire European market.
Key Responsibilities
- Explore embodied AI application scenarios across the DACH region and Europe; conduct prospective-client research and market analysis.
- Identify, develop, and manage high-value clients, particularly large enterprise groups, industrial clients, and strategic key accounts.
- Develop and execute go-to-market and sales strategies for the relevant product and solution portfolios.
- Drive pilot projects, reference customers, and scalable follow-on projects.
- Build a local partner and ecosystem network in the DACH region and gradually extend it across Europe.
- Actively integrate into the local industrial and innovation ecosystem, particularly in robotics, embodied AI, industrial automation, and digital transformation.
- Gradually build and lead a local commercial team to support expansion from DACH to all of Europe.
- Continuously gather and feed back local client and market requirements; analyze sales data, pipeline development, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate closely with internal departments to deliver on regional market objectives.
Profile Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher, with an engineering background.
- At least 10 years of experience in market development, business development, or sales, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven sales experience with large government, industrial, or enterprise clients, demonstrating a successful track record in key-account development and commercial negotiation.
- Fluency in Chinese and English is essential; proficiency in German is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to China on an occasional basis to engage with existing Chinese clients and supply chain partners.
- Ability to work in an international and cross-cultural environment; international work experience is preferred.
- Strong market and customer orientation, relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Exceptional leadership and organizational abilities, capable of building and leading a team from scratch.
