Job Description: Food Data Analyst

As our Food Data Analyst, also affectionately known as our "Matcher Ninja," you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of food data from our clients to ensure the correct calculation of the carbon footprint and other environmental and health indicators. Eventually, your role will also involve generating, reviewing, and correcting carbon reports before dispatching them to clients, as well as addressing data-related inquiries and client communication.

This position requires commitment, diligence, and a genuine enjoyment of working as part of a team dedicated to fostering a more sustainable food system. A good technical skill set is essential, along with experience in handling Excel files and data. You should be able to work independently while maintaining a collaborative spirit. If you have a background in environmental sciences, food technology, or basic knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), or are otherwise familiar with the realms of food and sustainability, that is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • The timely and accurate linking of client food data with our environmental data and models
  • Acquiring and processing additional product specifications from our clients and food producers
  • Supporting quality management of food data processing (updating guidelines, documenting missing products and product synonyms, reporting bugs and potential improvements in automation, enhancing linking of targeted products, etc.)
  • Generating, reviewing, and correcting carbon reports
  • Providing support for data-related client inquiries
