Localfish is an enthusiastic Swiss start-up that is transforming the Swiss fish market with its revolutionary sustainable, local Swiss fish farming methods. We proudly produce healthy, fresh, and exceptionally tasty perch, zander, and catfish in three organic, land-based aquacultures located in Bischofszell, Rafz, and Lyss. What You Can Expect

  • You will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the fish farm, including water parameters, cleaning, sorting, feeding, and more.
  • As an independent personality, you will collaboratively manage the entire production area alongside the farm manager.
  • You will provide process engineering support for the circulation systems, ensuring optimal water quality and effective feed management.
  • Ensuring the functionality of the fish farm by managing operations, adjustments, and monitoring will be part of your role.
  • You will respond swiftly to alerts from the fish farm's alarm system.
  • Recording the performance characteristics and condition of the fish and the RAS system, including analyses, documentation, and logs, is essential.
  • Engaging in preparatory work such as holding the fish will be part of your responsibilities.
  • Compliance with and enforcement of safety, quality, and hygiene regulations will be required.
  • You will oversee employee management and ensure timely completion of orders and effective stock management.
  • Monitoring and controlling the production process will be a key aspect of your role.
  • Coordinating goods logistics between the production facility and processing will be essential.

What You Bring

  • A completed vocational training or relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Fundamental knowledge of animal welfare, fish farming, water protection, feed analysis, and extraction.
  • A valid Category B and B/E (trailer) driving license along with experience in transporting fish.
  • A passion for working with fish and a commitment to responsible use of natural resources.
  • An organized and efficient approach enhanced by a precise, persistent, and resilient work attitude, even under pressure.
  • A motivated, determined, and communicative personality with a strong focus on hygiene and quality.
  • Proficiency in German is required; basic knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • Good skills in MS Office.
