Data Scientist, Product Analytics at Meta

As a Data Scientist at Meta, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our people-facing and business-facing products across our diverse family of applications, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Oculus. Leveraging your technical skills, analytical mindset, and product intuition, you will navigate one of the richest data sets globally to define experiences for billions of individuals and hundreds of millions of businesses.

Collaboration and Impact

You will collaborate on a wide array of product and business challenges with cross-functional partners from various domains such as Product, Engineering, Research, Data Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Finance. With your expertise in data and analysis, you will tackle the most significant challenges in product development, influence strategy and investment decisions, and prioritize impactful projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with extensive and complex data sets to address various challenging problems using diverse analytical and statistical approaches.
  • Identify and measure the success of product initiatives through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key product metrics to understand trends.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to inform, support, and execute product strategies and investment decisions.
  • Utilize technical expertise in quantitative analysis, experimentation, data mining, and data presentation to formulate strategies for products serving billions of users and businesses.
  • Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to enhance product offerings, driving roadmaps through your insights and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R).
  • 2+ years of experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, with a keen understanding of ecosystems, user behaviors, long-term product trends, and leading data-driven projects from definition to execution, including metric definition and experimental design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. Degree in a quantitative field.
