Job Opportunity: Consultant Engineer
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a skilled individual to join our Operations Engineering team in Paris as a Consultant Engineer, based in Switzerland. This role will report directly to the Group Manager of Field Engineering.
Role Overview
The Consultant Engineer will be responsible for:
- Partnering with our clients to understand their businesses and assist in preventing and controlling losses.
- Conducting on-site loss prevention evaluations to identify all reasonably foreseeable hazards at client locations.
- Accurately quantifying exposures at client locations to ensure the Account Team focuses appropriately on the risks and their potential business impact.
- Implementing measures to guarantee the operational functionality of protective equipment at client locations, maximizing opportunities for loss mitigation.
- Collaborating with clients to ensure understanding and agreement on identified hazards and exposures, along with their potential business impacts.
- Driving practical and effective on-site risk improvements, including maintenance programs and cost-effective physical enhancements, alongside developing plans for high capital improvements in alignment with Account Engineering.
- Demonstrating the value of the company's engineering capabilities and educating clients on effective loss prevention methods where applicable.
- Identifying impending changes to prevent associated exposures and providing timely high-quality plan review services for medium complexity changes to ensure that loss prevention considerations are factored in at the design stage.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess:
- A degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience.
- A background in loss prevention field engineering.
- A self-starter attitude with a problem-solving mindset and a genuine desire to enhance risk management.
- High attention to detail paired with organizational skills, strong analytical thinking, and logical application.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Fluency in German, English, and French (both written and oral); proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
- The role requires travel primarily within an assigned geographical area, as well as throughout the operational territory.
