Career Opportunity: Chief Scientist (m/f/d)

We are searching for a dynamic Chief Scientist with in-depth expertise and strong capabilities to lead our initiatives in the innovation of advanced techniques, pioneering research, and strategic planning. This role is crucial for ensuring the success of projects within our lab.

The Chief Scientist will oversee a talented team of researchers from diverse backgrounds, focusing on exploring next-generation computing architectures, designing comprehensive computing frameworks, and developing advanced techniques. A particular emphasis will be placed on enhancing efficiency, scalability, resilience, and cost-effectiveness for emerging AI workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in identifying the evolution path of next-generation computing architecture, including AI accelerators and general-purpose processors, while continuously tracking global technology trends.
  • Guide the development of outstanding capabilities in architecture design and performance analysis, involving rapid workload modeling and computational mapping.
  • Motivate the team to develop competitive solutions that are distinct from existing offerings and better suited for various applications, particularly in the AI domain.
  • Act as the spokesperson for the team, effectively communicating technical viewpoints at internal and external engagements, including conferences and seminars.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with academic institutions and industry partners to enhance research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
  • Ensure consistent production of high-quality research findings, driving impactful results such as technological breakthroughs and influential publications.

Requirements

  • A PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong interest and proven experience in advanced computing architecture and systems, especially for AI scenarios.
  • Over 15 years of experience in research and development within computing architecture, including significant leadership experience.
  • Extensive experience with AI technologies, particularly in areas such as LLM, foundation models, multimodal systems, and a broad spectrum of computing applications.
  • A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, with an h-index of no less than 30.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, capable of inspiring and directing a high-performing team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the exploration and design of advanced microarchitectures, SoCs, hardware platforms, and memory systems.
  • Proficiency in workload analysis, mapping, and hardware-software co-design.
  • Knowledge of critical topics in chip design and manufacturing processes.
