We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Art History Teacher to inspire academically motivated high school sophomores (ages 15-16) from diverse educational backgrounds across the United States.
Teach art history, exploring the evolution of painting, sculpture, and architecture from the Prehistoric era to the Baroque period, with a focus on Western European Art.
Enhance students' observational skills, encourage precise articulation of thoughts, and ignite their creative imagination while familiarizing them with iconic works from each period.
Conduct four classes daily, delivering the same material to each group of students.
Regularly assess students through assignments, papers, tests, and examinations.
Collaborate with at least one assistant teacher to support student learning.
Requirements
Native or C2 level proficiency in English writing and speaking.
Bachelor of Arts in Art History; Master's or PhD degrees are strongly preferred.
A robust teaching background.
Advisory responsibility for 4-5 students.
Outdoor activities experience (hiking, climbing, biking, and skiing) is preferred but not mandatory.
Additional Duties
Evening study hall coverage.
Dormitory residential experience and responsibilities.
Participation in afternoon outdoor activities (hiking, climbing, and skiing); preferred but not required.
Location
Zermatt, Switzerland
Dates of Position
September 12 through December 10, 2025.
A five-day faculty orientation will be held in Zermatt prior to the start of school.
