Job Opportunity: Application Engineer for Computational Electromagnetics (CEM)

ZMT Zurich MedTech AG (ZMT), the leading developer and provider of tools and innovative in silico solutions for targeted life sciences applications, is currently seeking an Application Engineer for Computational Electromagnetics (CEM).

ZMT is part of the Zurich43 alliance, collaborating with partner organizations including the Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society (IT’IS), Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG), and TI Solutions AG (TI Solutions). Our mission is dedicated to advancing knowledge and technology in several key areas:

  • Characterization, optimization, and application of electromagnetic (EM) near-fields.
  • Predictive modeling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies.
  • Innovative medical applications.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop showcases for various applications to demonstrate the features and capabilities of our simulation platform (both web and desktop versions).
  • Provide technical support for our global user base.
  • Deliver technical presentations at seminars and workshops.
  • Participate in scientific conferences and exhibitions.
  • Conduct research and observe market trends and competitor products.
  • Gather feedback from users and partners, collaborating with the research and development teams to enhance our simulation platform.
  • Support the development team during all software release activities, including software testing, writing application notes and manuals, and facilitating training sessions.

Your Qualifications

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
  • Solid background in electromagnetic (EM) theory.
  • Practical experience in at least one of the following areas: computational modeling and simulation, antenna design, medical device engineering, software development, scripting, web applications, or electromagnetic field theory.
  • Good understanding of software development processes.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to maintaining high work quality standards.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, team-oriented personality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Commitment to effectively address the needs of partners and customers.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of German is a plus.
