We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Animal Caretaker for the Experimental Animal Center (EAC). This position is available to start as soon as possible or by mutual agreement.
This role is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Provide professional animal care while monitoring and recording animal health.
Breed genetically modified experimental animals.
Maintain hygiene standards in all animal care practices.
Record animal data accurately in our computer system.
Perform specific services such as taking skin biopsies for genotyping.
Clean materials, equipment, and rooms in accordance with hygiene regulations.
Assist in the operational maintenance of equipment, including goods receipt and storage.
Participate in animal care duties on a rotational basis during weekends and holidays.
Requirements
Completed professional training in animal care or a related agricultural field.
Strong sense of responsibility towards entrusted animals.
Reliability, quick comprehension, resilience, and efficient working methods.
A service-oriented approach with effective communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
Proficient computer skills (MS Word and MS Excel).
Good knowledge of German; English skills (level A2) are advantageous.
