DMD Solutions - Aerospace Structural Engineer Position
DMD Solutions is a consultancy company specialized in aerospace design and RAMS engineering, providing project outsourcing and engineering tool development. Our clients consist of manufacturers and maintainers of aeronautic products based in Europe, and we assist them in achieving their engineering quality goals with a strong focus on certification.
As part of our expansion plan, we are seeking a skilled Aerospace Structural Engineer to join our team in Switzerland. As a Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our client products meet reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, check, and approve dispositions for structural deviations on aircraft, substantiating them through classical analysis and existing finite element models.
- Prepare and review technical memos, certification engineering reports, production instructions, and acceptance criteria for process specifications. Approve drawing and parts list changes related to corrective actions, structural changes, and improvements on the aircraft.
- Conduct structural analysis, including classical static stress analysis and finite element analysis primarily for metallic and some composite airframe structures in both development and certification environments.
- Prepare formal engineering analysis reports and participate in test plans and test reports.
- Provide cross-functional analytical support and liaise internally, with an opportunity for direct liaison/support with external suppliers and airworthiness authorities.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on aircraft structures or equivalent, with a minimum of 8 years of work experience as a structural engineer on primary and secondary structures in the Aerospace Sector.
- Solid experience in deploying classical hand calculation methodologies and utilizing industry-standard reference sources.
- Familiarity with NASTRAN (MSC/NX), FEMAP, or a similar finite element package.
- Knowledge of composite analysis methodologies would be advantageous.
- Flexible, innovative, and capable of working under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Knowledge of the German language is a plus.
